Twenty-five centavos

Approximate value: US$0.005.

So this morning I went to the grocery store to buy a bottle of juice worth 24.25 pesos. I gave 30 pesos to the cashier. She asked me if I had a 25 centavo coin, and I said no. Then she gave me a full 6 pesos of change anyway.

What's the point of asking for the 25 centavos if it doesn't even matter?

P.S. The macro on this camera is incredible.

  2. heck, our five centavo coins are being used as washers. :P or some foreigners buy our centavo coins, melt it and extract the tin (?) or whatever element in there.

i'm a "barya" freak though. I save my 25 centavo coins. comes handy when I'm 50 centavos short of a jeepney ride.
